  Marijuana is illegal in North Carolina, except on Eastern Band of Cherokee land. Half an ounce or less is a Class 3 misdemeanor: a fine up to $200 and no active jail (N.C. Gen. Stat. 90-95), or Class 2 with a prior drug conviction. Cannabis bought on the Qualla Boundary stays there.

  Adult-use marijuana is illegal in Texas. Possessing 2 ounces or less is a Class B misdemeanor (Health and Safety Code 481.121). Medical use is limited to low-THC cannabis. Hemp delta-9 products with 0.3% total delta-9 THC or less are legal for adults 21 and over; delta-8 and high-THCA flower are not.
